Spore creations packs12/24/2023 While many found the actual gameplay of Spore to be repetitive and uninteresting, its creator tools were spectacular. It became the most pirated game of 2008 partially due to fan outcry over EA’s controversial DRM, and while the sales were good, it wasn’t next The Sims, leaving Spore an abandoned franchise for EA.īut hey, at least we got some fantastic fan creations. Its evolutionary stages were repetitive and restrictive up until the Space Stage, which still felt like a drag. Instead, we got a game that was certainly decent but didn’t live up to the hype. You’d explore the evolution from single cells to outer space, with dynamic mechanics and creation tools full of possibilities. Spore mouthpiece and mastermind of the game Will Wright promised gamers a lot when discussing the massive game. Those following the games industry from at least 2006 will pick up some similar vibes to one of the most hyped games of the 2000s, EA and Maxis’ Spore.Īnd indeed, Maxis’ Spore, which released 2008, received eerily similar hype to what No Man’s Sky collected. ![]() And all after years of development and so many doubts that the game would ever be released. That means countless worlds to be explored in the game, with countless alien races to encounter. Which is actually easier to make there in my opinion. No Man’s Sky was finally released after years of hype and news. Thus i can only make them via the website Spoerpedia. The only thing i noticed that screwed is I cannot make a Sporecast anymore from inside the game with my creatures because they don't how up as mine anymore. As long as I have them show up then i am fine having them in everything. Thus the game shows that I have made nothing in "My Creations" in the in-game Sporepedia.ĭoing what you said i am afraid it would mess things up even more. ![]() So now after i deleted the pollination package file the buddy content is coming back and my backed up creatures are in the game but only under everything. In short i have always had just buddy content only + things i made. Once i did so it caused the ones i moved over to be deleted from Spore even though you could see them in the folder.Īfter doing the stuff I posted above i am at the pont where all my creaures are in the folder but not showing up as "mine" in My Creations part of in game Sporepedia, but DO show up under "Everything" in in game Sporepedia. I just never put te backed up CC creatures in the creature fold in my spore creations. Maybe it would resurrect your lost ones DoneĢ. There's a bizarre bug which brings deleted critters back from the dead when you do that. Turn "buddy content only" on (you don't need to delete EditorSaves.package first, either, hehe! ). If you've already been playing spore and were just trying to back things up and something went FUBAR, then oh well! You aren't likely to have a backup of EditorSaves.package, and the game won't recreate its contents if you delete it.* The two files CAN be merged, however, by using SpView. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have already been playing Spore, that would remove from the editors anything you had already made in Spore. (You can put %appdata% in start->run or in the explorer address bar and it will take you to where-ever your Application Data folder is, and you can use it as part of a path like I did there. If you are just now moving from the creature creator to Spore:Ĭopy your EditorSaves.package file from the "%appdata%\spore creature creator" folder into the "%appdata%\spore" folder, overwriting the one which is there (don't worry, if you haven't made anything yet in spore, the package is empty).
